Our network
PremiaNet's IP network is one of the most redundant and efficient in
the industry. In fact, it would be difficult to find another provider
with the level of redundancy implemented throughout our network.
PremiaNet's network is 100% powered by Cisco routers and Cisco/Foundry switches,
with every location's design based on our "Dual Everything" network philosophy.
Here's a brief explanation of our architecture, from the customer to the edge:
- Each customer can be provided with two* Ethernet or GigE connections
- Each connection is linked to an independent Cisco or Foundry switch.
- Each of those switches is connected to an independent Cisco 12000 GSR router.
- Each switch and router is connected to each other.
- Each router has a connection to the Internet from an independent provider.
- Each router and switch has dual processor/management cards cards and redundant
power supplies, for an even higher uptime.
* The same architecture can be provided with other types of interfaces, such
as T1s, OC3s, etc. Special equipment may be required on customer's end to achieve
this level of redundancy if you desire dual uplinks.
With this architecture, no matter which of our devices or connections fail,
your access to the Internet will not be affected beyond the few seconds it
takes for redundancy mechanisms to take effect.
Your cost? PremiaNet's price per meg is one of the lowest in the industry. By
having fully redundant network nodes, our expenses decrease by requiring less expensive network
personnel and reduced consulting fees.
Plus, customer's expenses are reduced, as you won't need anything beyond
an inexpensive switch. No need for routers, BGP headaches, dealing with multiple
providers, etc. Every piece of equipment and process you would need to
put in place to have such a high level of redundancy is eliminated,
